Data Capture

The Basis of the Entire Logistical Process
There are many questions you can ask of your freight data. How does my freight spend this year compare to last year? How much has fuel impacted my costs? Should I open a new warehouse and, if so, where? We help you look at what questions you will ask of your data and what needs to be captured in order to answer them. |
| Standard Captures NCL has a list of standard data captures that you should get from each bill. These included things like ship date, pro number, origin and destination zips, check information, etc. If you have simple account coding and freight questions these captures may be all that you need. |

More Details Many of our customers also capture more details about their freight. We can capture down to the product level including poduct code, weight and class as well as vendor/customer name, order numbers, po's, etc. |
EDI If the shipper can provide electronic data for the audit then we can match it up against the electronic information from the carrier. This incures more cost to set up but the fee per bill is cheaper. For UPS and Fedex electronic invoices we can also do a service audit on the packages and provide reporting on the accessorial charges. |

Account Coding Account coding rules between different companies can range from
very simple to very complex. NCL will sit down with your
accounting department and learn how to account code each type of
freight bill. We bring consistancy to the coding process. |
